Twin Sphere Rubber Expansion Joints

October 10, 2024

The twin sphere rubber expansion joint are designed with two spherical sections, which provide enhanced flexibility and movement absorption compared to single-sphere joints. The double-sphere design resembles The twin-sphere design resembles two tightly connected rubber spheres, and is thus also called “double sphere”. This design allows for greater axial, lateral, and angular movement, making them ideal for accommodating misalignment in piping systems. The twin-sphere rubber expansion joints with floating metallic flanges effectively reduce vibration and noise transmission through the system, improving the overall operational stability.

The joint body can be made from a wide range of rubber including neoprene (chloroprene), natural rubber, chlorobutyl, Buna-N/Nitrile, styrene-butadiene (SBR), CSM, and EPDM, etc. Depending on the rubber compound used, the twin-sphere rubber expansion joints can withstand high pressures and temperatures. They are highly resistant to chemicals, water, and UV exposure, extending the lifespan of the joints in harsh environments.
