ASME B16.9 4" SCH40 180° return, short radius (S/R); made from ASTM A234 Gr. WP5 Class 1; supplied to a petrochemical project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Butt welding pipe fittings made from ASTM A234 Gr. WP5 can be furnished in a series of product types: elbow, bend, return, tee, reducer, and cap, etc. The nominal composition is 5Cr-0.5Mo. These fittings are widely used for petrochemical and power steam piping. There are two classes of ASTM A234 WP5: Class 1 and Class 3, which differentiates from each other in tensile properties.

Generally, fittings made from ASTM A234 WP5 Class 1 shall be furnished in annealed condition with the minimum austenitizing temperature of 1750°F [955°C]. The full annealing may result in good ductility but lower strength. Fittings made from ASTM A234 WP5 Class 3 are usually furnished in normalized+tempered condition. The tempering temperature shall not be less than 1250°F [675°C].
