ASTM A192 Boiler Tubes Applied to ASME BPVC

Applicability & Maximum Temperature

ASTM A192 carbon steel seamless boiler tubes, Φ63.5 mm x 3 mm (w.t) x 6700 mm. These tubes are furnished to a heat recovery boiler in a sulphuric-acid-production plant, Chile.

ASTM A192/ ASME SA-192 carbon steel seamless tubes are widely used for the construction of boilers and superheaters in cane sugar industry, fossile thermal plant, chemical and petrochemical industry. They are also called as “boiler tubes” or “superheater tubes”. The boiler tubes made of ASTM A192 steel can be applied to services in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Section I, Section VIII-1, Section XII and Section IV. The maximum temperature limits are 538°C, 538°C, and 343°C for Section I, VIII-1, and XII, respectively. The UNS designation of ASME SA-192 (ASTM A192) steel is K01201 with the P-number of 1.
