Applicability of ASTM A105/ ASME SA-105 to ASME BPVC

Forgings made from ASTM A105 or ASME SA-105 materials, either forged flange or forged fittings, can be applied to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes (BPVC). The ASTM A105/ ASME SA-105 carbon steel forgings are designated with an UNS number K03504. It has a P-number of 1 and Group number of 2. It has an accurate equivalent ASME SA-181 (ASTM A181) Class 70, which can be used identically with SA-105 in any conditions of the Codes. According to Section II, Volume 1 of the Code, ASME SA-105/ SA-105M is identical with ASTM A105/ A105M.
